Corduroy pants

I really liked the way this pattern went together. Very easy to follow instructions and Photos. This is made with black corduroy and the lining and contrast is made with a cotton red/black paw print. I am not use to putting lining in pants but putting it in was not as hard as I thought it would.  I love the little details like the cuff on the bottom of pant with buttons and the fake pocket in back with buttons. My grandson is small around so the pants are little big for him right now, But its always nice to have something for them to grow into when they seam to grow so fast. I made a size 6 mo.

Another winter pj set and Vest Jacket

The last two months have been birthday months. This little fellow turns 5 today. It was celebrated on Thursday. I gave him this Peek a boo Pattern (Great Outdoor Vest) Thursday along with his Winter PJs. I made it out of Blue Sweat Shirt Fleece Fabric  and line with a printed flannel for extra warmth for  the cool fall days. This jacket vest can be made reversible using a reversible zipper, but I onlyhad a separating zipper for one side so that what I used this time.

Peek a boo Pattern shop has all PJ's on sale for 25% off right now til Sunday October 27th so go check  it out. Link is below  the last PJs photo.

This is the first Peeka booPattern I have made for him and its seems to fit good. size 4T. I definitely love this pattern! I have not been one to  line jackets but I love the finish look to it and want to do more lined jackets. Next time one with sleeves.

Thank you for visting and come back soon!

The Rosalie Tee

Here is another peekaboo pattern I have  tried out. My granddaughter really like the Rosalie ruffle T  that can be found  here at http://www.peekaboopatternshop.com/product/rosalie-ruffle-tee-3-mos-12-years.  Her mother wanted her to have a neutral color to go with a lot of things. So since I had some white t shirt fabric, I did my first one in that color. I love the way the  ruffles look. The pattern said to use Jersey so the ends curl, but I didn't want the ruffles to curl and interlock knit does not curl. Interlock is thicker than jersey so the neckline where the ruffle was sewn to was a little thicker than I like. I do think the shirt turn out good and it looks good on Sarah. I would definitely like to make another one!

A few fall projects

Fall is upon us with cooler mornings now so its time to make warmer clothing for my grandchildren. I have been trying out different patterns from different designers. there are so many to choose from that it is hard to decide what to make first.  As you can tell I have started out with a hooded pullover fleece jacket with a lined hood and a pair of knit pajamas size 12 mo, both are pdf patterns from peek a boo patterns shop . According to his mom,  they both fit great. Fabric is  from Joanne fabrics. I think next time I  will add a little more around the neck so it will go over his head a little easier. Doesn't he look happy!pictures by his mother. she takes great pictures!

Jack and Jill

It has been awhile since I blogged. I guess the days get consumed with work and sewing. I have been trying out a few new patterns.  I was looking for a shorts overall pattern for my grandson this summer  and found this one from peekaboo pattern shop called Jack and Jill http://www.peekaboopatternshop.com/product/jack-jill-shortalls-3-mos-4t. I made the 6-9 mo size and  I made the short overall from a cotton from jonann fabrics. the only thing I added was the pocket in front. this picture was taken by his mother.  I love the way the short overalls turned out.  Of course I think he looks so cute in them!

Ellieinspired pattern group had a stashbuster contest and this is one of the items I made to enter. One of the rules was you had to use fabric  from your stash, preferably bought before May 1, 2013.  Well I know I have a stash, so I started looking for fabric I wanted to use. At first I did have something in mind and was looking for that particular fabric when way in the back I found this pretty aqua fabric with pink roses. If you've seen the front my house you know I like pink roses.  Once I saw this fabric I knew I was going to use this fabric and I  was going to use the vintage baby romper pattern. So my sewing adventure began. I made the bodice using the vintage baby romper, the skirt/band using jazzy baby and tie from Nantucket baby pattern , all from Ellieinspired .com. the embroidered rose from custom Keepsakes gals and doll embroidery collection.
I  love the way it turned out! I love the vintage look too! this is size 24 mo.

A few cute outfits

Guess I have not blog in awhile. My husband is progressing each day from his triple bypass surgery. He went to his followup today. Everything seems to be going as it should, so that's good news!

I have been trying to catch up on a few things I had started before his surgery  Like the ruff or ruffle romper, and vintage baby romper, a little dress I put together with three of Ellieinspired patterns and Lucy locket pattern. Below are a few pictures. I love these rompers and I thought the dress turned out so cute! At first I didn't know how I wanted to do it, but little by little it  came together. you can find the patterns used at http://www.ellieinspired.com/pattern-shop/. All fabrics except the knit hoodie rib knit was purchased at Joannes fabric store. the knit was purchased at http://www.banberryplace.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=239_241_263

mini sporty girl

I tested this cute doll pattern from ellieinspire  http://www.ellieinspired.com/call mini sporty girl, for 15 and 18 inch dolls sizes. My doll is  an  inch  smaller the American girl doll,  (battat , our generation doll) so I did have take it in 1/2 in the fold and sides and hood middle seam. I  thought it turn out well. I  did have a little pair of pants to match but the little item is hiding from me and has not shown up yet!. the original pattern is a dress, but as you can see can be made into a top as well. There is a separate girls sporty girl pattern too. I would like make a top for my granddaughter from the girl version, probably in a solid color. maybe a teal blue.
Update: while I was looking for something I picked up my bag of scraps and off of sudden the bag rips and all the scraps spilled all over the floor (ugh) so I plunge in and started to pick up the scraps and I as I was doing so, I notice the matching pants among all those scraps! The place i didn't think to look! sorry about the color in pictures. still getting the hang of editing pictures.
The pants were made from the mini Snug as a bug Pattern that you saw in another post. The fabric is from Joannes fabric store.
