The Nonie Pattern

I made this Christmas a year ago for Sarah using Ellieinspired Nonie pattern . Its a Red and Black print dress embellished with black satin ribbon and piping around neck and three small buttons down the front. It has a black band at the  the hem of the dress. The belero is made out of Black Velveteen and lined with black cotton fabric. This one of my favorite patterns. I made a size 7 slim ( this pattern come in plus and average sizing too, you can make a long, short, or 3/4 length belero sleeve) and I thought it fit Sarah very well and she looks very nice in it. You can check Ellieinspired blog and see the other tester's  wonderful creations!Sewinpire pictures You can click ellieinspired.com to reach what going on her blog.

Oregon duck pullover and Hopscotch Pattern

Well My grandson Ethan had a birthday last week so I made him a Oregon duck fleece pullover from Kwik sew 3773. He really like it! I like it too, its very  soft! While I was at their house I gave his sister the hopscotch dress I made her from Ellieinspired. She demonstrated to me a few great twirls! I would have loved to applique something on it, but she was satisfied as it was. I always like to
dress the grand kids outfits up. Check the cute picture out below.

Fabric finds

I have been on vacation this last week. Having fun sewing and finishing projects. Thursday I went to a local Quilt shop and bought some pretty fabrics for this cute purse pattern. I don't usually buy black prints, but I saw this pattern made up in these prints and thought it was so cute that I wanted to make it up myself so below is a picture of the prints.

Then Friday we took a drive to the coast to florence and I went to two fabric shops. One was the Joy of Quilting and the Weng-Daze Quilters Emporium which I believe is only open from May to October. We also walked down old town Florence and window shop at the gift shops. It was a beautiful day for a drive. Below is a picture of the two fabric finds I came home with. I haven't decided exactly what I going to make with them, but I am sure I will figure it out.

Indian Summer Floral Skirt

Since school has started for my granddaughter I thought I would make her something new. I made another one of Olabelhe Claudia skirt. This one has a blush pink background and the hems are trim with brown/white pin dot fabric. Accented with brown ribbon trim on the yoke of the skirt. I made a little bag to match from Pickle pie designs. below is a picture. I can hardly wait to get a picture of her wearing it.. I like the way it turned out and Sarah likes it too.!

Meadowsweet Mini Doll Pattern

I had the privilege to test another one of ellieinspired doll patterns called  mini Meadowsweet which is the skirt doll pattern that  matches the girl version of meadowsweet Skirt Pattern. The blouse is from her Mini Mary Mack doll pattern that I purchase and I took the top half of the dress and made a blouse with pin tucks and I also put pin tuck on the sleeve. Originally I  was going to embroidery some flowers on it, but my machine wasn't exactly cooperating. but I really enjoy adding the pin tucks to it. I made a little jacket for it from Mini Elsie Marley doll pattern that I tested earlier in the year.   Here is a link to elleinspire.com blog that shows the doll outfits made by the designer and testers. the patterns are on sale now at. http://www.ellieinspired.com/2012/08/31/doll-week-recap/

Its a minky and cotton owl duet

I thought I would show you what I have been working on. I have been making a few baby things which have included a receiving blanket made out of blue minky and an owl flannel print from Joannes fabric store and this adorable owlie stuffed toy (from GG designs) at http://www.ggdesignsembroidery.com/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=108 and a owl zip bag (from garden embroidery) at
http://www.embroiderygarden.com/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=663. I think they turned out so cute !
The stuff toy is made out of minky and the wings are the flannel, and owl zip bag is made out of batik cotton with wings are also flannel, both are done in the hoop except for whip stitching the toy closed. They were so much fun to make!

recieving blanket , stuff toy, and zipped bag

I made a bib for Nolan to match his cousins bib. Each have their own initial  using the spunky alphabet applique designs by lynnie pinnie.com . I really like how the applique initials turned out. The top part of each bib is made out of the flannel and bottom made out of a towel I bought from walmart. The Free pattern is from a boutique style bib tutorial
