Colorful Block Progress

I thought I would show you my quilt progress for this week. I manage to get many 2 1/2 ", and 4 1/2 triangles, and squares done to go toward the blocks so that I could sew during the week when I can.
I will be alternating the nine patch block and the star block with 7 blocks across. I  also like those sewing projects that don't take as long to do too... scroll down to see my finished small project

I also made a matching small coin purse to stick in my pocket when I don't want a purse to carry. Its smaller than the one I made last week.  Just right for those small things you need to carry with you. My old one was falling apart so I thought this would be a good time to try this design again. This purse is  from the boutique zipper bags set at .http://www.picklepiedesigns.com/items/boutique_zipper_case_~amp_fanny_pack_set.aspx

THANK YOU FOR VISITING! & HAVE A VERY GOOD WEEK!

Bag in the hoop design

I was visiting Cole's corner blog at http://www.coles-corner-and-creations.com/search/label/bags and loved the bag she made so I hop on over to http://www.picklepiedesigns.com/items/boutique_zipper_case_~amp_fanny_pack_set.aspx and found and purchased the bag that would fit in my hoop. I liked the long one but my hoop wasn't big enough, so I settle for 5x7 hooped bag. I made two, one for my younger granddaughter who just turn 9 and one for the older granddaughter(their birthdays are two weeks apart) but the second one I made came out better. I guess practice makes perfect !  I would like to make a few more.
It called for batting in the instructions, but  I decided to do this one with just two interfacings in with the front and back pieces of the bag to reduce the bulk. and I type tags for each piece to easily identify as I went through instructions. I made the one below for my older granddaughter who just turned 17. She is  into the black color  and lined it with cupcake print fabric. All sewing supplies were purchase at Joannes fabric store. I think I will make myself one next. It will have to have some pink on it.

As you can see I finally got mine finish which is the pink and black bag below. I just love the way it turned out.

Darlenes purse

Sarahs purse which was the first one I made.

Thank you for visiting and have a great week!

SARAH DRESS

Here is my granddaughter dress I made her for her birthday.  I am only a couple weeks late. I really like the way it turned out and love the colors in it. I think it may be a little long, but better long than too short. This way it can be short if it needs to be. I tried making a bow in front for that view, but  I think it will be easier to tie  the  bow when its on Sarah. It can also be worn with the tie in back too. This is a  Gabriella pattern from Olabelhe.com. I purchased the fabric from a local quilt shop.
